Lucy's quilt - goldfish
Here is another piece I have finished for Lucy's quilt. My sister Sarah designed this goldfish and flower. Of course I asked her if I could use some of her lovely designs for the quilt so you will be seeing more of them. This one worked out really well I'm very pleased with it. I think Sas will like it too. Lucy loves all of it she's already taken possession of the whole thing, whenever I pull it out she says 'for Lulu, mummy making for Lulu'!

Jamie's Quilt- Progress
Here is another block for Jamie's quilt. Sorry it's crumpled! My progress has slowed down significantly since I returned to work. The plan is to have it done in time for me to give it to jamie for Christmas. So that should give me enough time to get it done.

More quilt bits!!
Here's a few completed parts to Lulu's quilt. These are designs I made up myself. I putting the colours together as I go so let's hope it works out. I need to wait until I've embroidered/appliqued the decorated panels before I can decide on which filler fabrics to use. I found I'm short of simple check and spot fabric and so have ordered some more, will have to wait 10 days for those to arrive before I progress so far. I buy most my fabrics on the internet as there are no great fabric shops here plus they cost a bomb 17 -19 euro a meter! Cheaper to order it online, the problem is choosing too many gorgeous fabrics out there! More on flickr

A quilt in progress
This is the start of a quilt for Lucy. The plan is to make it approximately 150cm x 150cm hopefully it will work out as I am making it up. As it will take a while to complete I'll post a little as I go so stay tuned! Inspiration has come from all over the place including Japanese craft books particularly my embroidery books. For example this panel with the girl and flowers comes from my Japanese embroidery book (no idea what the name is) ISBN 4834724980. I adapted it to applique combined with embroidery. I am using very mixed fabrics including felt so let's hope it works out. More on flickr

Jamie's Quilt
Here are some of the blocks that I am putting into Jamie's quilt. They are a work in progress and not quite finished. I am using a raw edge applique technique. I have never done anything like this before so am basically teaching myself. I plan to quilt it on the sewing machine as I don't think I am patient enough to do it by hand. Hopefully it works out!!!! There are a couple more images on Flickr.

Japanese goodies
My order arrived from pompadour24 (ebay). She has great stuff and very economical shipping. I bought some 1/2 yards of Japanese fabrics, absolutely gorgeous. Should have ordered more! I also bought 'Stitch Ideas vol. 7' ISBN 9784529045599 and 'Palm size stuffies' ISBN 9784834725377 . Both great books which I can't wait to work from and highly recommend. more images are on Flickr.
